some intimacy, a meditation, (soundscapes, Sculptures, Film, Writing) - May 2022
Through breath and repetition ‘some intimacy, a meditation’ recites the lineage of ancestors housed within my body, while mappings movement, displacement and violence of The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade through both lineage and landscape.
The work conjures movements of ancestral bodies through the earth, to question what it means for my body and the bodies which have formed this body to ‘concaveandfold’, to compost to sink back into the land - within the land and form acts of fugitivity.
